Case Study 02

Type : Aircraft Manufacturer Field Service Support department
Location: Worlwide

FORTAS offers, as we always do, a flat monthly fee for all operations supplied to our clients. In this case, a major aircraft manufacturer opted for such a solution in order to maximize financial visibility and control over its field support operations. Part of a larger restructuring, this option became an obvious operation and management cost-saver and represented the flexibility to do more with the allocated budget, ultimately allowing the client to support its airlines and operators in a more complete and dedicated way. As we take away the trouble of managing the salaries, union conditions, the expense accounts, the travels, worker schedules and the everyday management of the away-teams, this solution quickly becomes an obvious one for our client. Our overhead also being close to zero, gives it the advantage to beneficiate from our most complete and competitive rates.

The recruiting of the support teams and professionalism of the representatives sent to support this client various international locations, also played a big role on the client plans to use such services. We can recruit through our network, workers from anywhere on the planet, allowing a local support, at any location the operation may be.

The FORTAS offer is always fully- inclusive and all that is left for our client’s control is a monthly invoice, which makes their international efforts, cost-predictable and surprise-free.

Our team

It has always been a dream of mine to support the aviation industry at the four corners of the world. In my college years, it was all I would wish for. The last twelve years enabled me to do so, as I have been very fortunate to be at the forefront of the aviation services industry and worked my way up, supporting among others Airbus, ATR, Bombardier and CAE on many touchy operations, with merit. In the process I made friends and lasting relationships with clients, suppliers and their supporting crews, as well as with incredibly talented people that have been loyal in their dispatch with my teams, as employees, as friends.

They say that when you walk straight, you’ll never be lost. Well, I never got lost and that is why I can now continue producing, along with those colleagues, clients and friends, the same grade of service you are used to getting from me, in every way, shape or form; remaining professional which is the essence of what we do!

I have worked hard to build a reputation that I now see rewarded in the trust I am getting from the industry. I have also worked hard on our service platforms, together with exquisite employees and clients, supporting and trusting our dedication and vision.

That is why I am more than honored and thrilled to introduce a fresh and renewed business unit, one that builds-up on the standards I have established thoroughly over the past 12 years, one that will revolutionize client relations by promoting the client before anything else and one in-which you will really recognize yourselves.

I present you FORTAS

September 17, 2009 - Claude Fortin named CEO of FORTAS

Forging-ahead with the announcement made earlier this week, FORTAS announced today, the hiring of Mr. Claude Fortin as the company CEO.

Mr. Fortin was, until recently, CEO of an aviation consulting firm, a position he held for nine years. He sold his shares earlier this summer, in a move to venture into new projects and challenges. He has been in the aviation industry for the past 12 years and has supported international operations with most major aviation manufacturers.

Mr. Charles Lemieux, the company owner said: “FORTAS has been a long-time-coming project of mine, which was catapulted-ahead a short while ago when I finally met the person I wanted to hire as the CEO. Claude is someone who has everything required for this position as he knows his way around the majors of our industry and possesses management skills I won’t have to second-guess.”

Asked about the challenges of his new position, Mr. Fortin said: “I really look forward to this endeavour and while I have entertained a few offers this summer, Mr. Lemieux’s offer had what I was seeking; the liberty to build this company the way I want to. I have spent the last 10 years managing an under-financed company in which my team was limited in their actions and project planning. FORTAS will be built around me and the service vision my clients and I share.”

Mr. Fortin promises that there will be other announcements soon, announcements which will mark- down FORTAS as a major player in the aviation service industry.
